For translation agencies

As a translation agency or language services provider, you can sign up as a FairLoc Ambassador. This means you will pay a monthly subscription fee in exchange for the ability to issue stamps and display the FairLoc Ambassador Badge on your website.

When registering, you will sign the FairLoc Agreement, which is a legal contract between you and FairLoc that regulates our relationship and allows us to maintain the integrity of the certification scheme. In short, it says that:

❤ You agree to only issue FairLoc stamps in accordance with the rules, meaning that you can only issue stamps to clients who order human translations for their prominent, customer-facing content (Read more about this here).
❤ You can still sell automated translation services to your FairLoc clients for certain text types, such as internal communications, some social media posts, low-visibility texts and high-volume texts that would not be suitable for full human translation. You can use our guidelines as reference to decide when the exceptions apply and, in the case of a dispute, FairLoc can intervene.
❤ Your translators can still make use of machine-translation and artificial-intelligence tools for research and reference purposes, just so long as they are not asked to post-edit a pretranslation. It should be a human in the driving seat at all times!
❤ You are of course also free to sell MT and AI solutions without restriction to your other clients who are not FairLoc Companies.
❤ Finally, you also agree to monitor compliance and report any breaches to FairLoc. You also agree to allow your suppliers and employees to report any breaches via the whistle-blowing function on the FairLoc website, should they discover that you or your clients are not sticking to the terms in our legal documentation.

Supporters do not issue stamps, and therefore do not need to sign any contracts!

You can upgrade or downgrade your choice of tier at any time, meaning you can always adjust the amount you pay depending on how much or how little demand for stamps you have from your clients. Note that each individual client only needs one stamp. The Supporter tier does not allow you to issue stamps and is intended primarily for freelancers and others who simply want to support FairLoc’s mission, but agencies are also free to select this tier.
