For translation buyers

Companies who order translation services and value human creativity and fair working conditions throughout the supply chain can make the honourable standpoint of becoming a FairLoc Company. This means that you commit to using human translations for your prominent, customer-facing texts, rather than using AI or solutions based on machine translation.

To become a FairLoc Company, you first need to make sure that your translation provider is a FairLoc Ambassador. If they aren’t, you can simply create your own user account with FairLoc, and then prompt them to sign up from your dashboard.

  • You agree to use human translations for your prominent, customer-facing texts. We purposely keep this definition broad, as exactly what it will encompass will vary from case to case. But in essence, it is all those creative and engaging texts that you have crafted carefully to win over or truly create a connection with your customers or users.
  • You can still order automated translations in certain cases. These include internal communications, some social-media posts, low-visibility texts and high-volume texts that are unsuitable for human translation. Basically, we take a common-sense approach that is designed not to box you in unnecessarily, and which allows you to still make use of automated solutions when it actually makes sense to do so. You can read more about the exceptions here.
  • So long as you fulfill your obligations, you will be entitled to use the digital FairLoc stamp on your website and digital content. You can also include the FairLoc logo and your unique QR code on any printed publications. Nice one!

Once the paperwork is complete, you will be able to access your digital stamp and QR code from your dashboard on the FairLoc website. Users who click on the stamp can see information about its validity, your choice to become a FairLoc Company, and what languages are covered, meaning that it is a reliable and up-to-the-minute verification of your commitment to human creativity.
